Student Rock Band & Recording Studio Camp

Learn to play your part in a REAL rock band and learn to make records like the pros! Enrollment in this class will make you part of a new and exciting rock band that will prepare themselves for recording sessions in the studio to make a demo CD of the band as a final project.

During our 2 hour long sessions, we will be focusing on supervised band practices and pre-production sessions as part of preparation for the recording process. (A total of 8 sessions comprising of 16 hours total in the studio make up each camp.) A name will be chosen for the band, songs will be selected, and group practices will be held. Individual tips and other aspects of recording will be discussed to prepare for the recording process. Topics will include theory, harmony, and technique as well as other subjects of the music business such as record companies, copyrights and royalties, press kits, logos, and artwork.

Students will also get a chance for some hands on experience involving studio techniques. We will learn how the studio works, go over microphones and microphone placement, the recording console, tape decks, digital audio workstations, amplifiers, and effects. We will also learn how to track, make overdubs, mix, edit and master your music.

Each student will receive a compact disc of the finished product at the end of the course. They will also have the feeling of being an integral part of a group and seeing the creation of a product from start to finish.

Enrollment Fees:
Registration fee is $19.95 per student.
Enrollment fee is $269.95 per student.
Fees include use of drum kits, keyboards, and certain studio instruments. It also includes all CD costs. Students are required to use their own stringed instruments, band instruments and drum sticks. A 50% deposit is required 3 weeks prior to the start of a camp. Balance is due at first class.
